What is AIDA Model?

The AIDA model was introduced by American advertising and sales pioneer Elias. St. Lewis in the late 19th century. AIDA can be used to create an astonishing content marketing strategy in todays' digital and vertical scrolling dome we live in. This article provides an overview of the AIDA model, and explains how to use it to attract more customers and convert them into repeat customers.

What is AIDA?

The AIDA model (Attract, Interest, Desire, Action) is a proven method for attracting customers to your products and services.

The model works on the principle that if you can tap into people's innate desire to affiliate with something that will benefit them in some way, then you have the makings of a successful business.

So what are the AIDA stages?

The AIDA stages are Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action.

During these four stages, your content will ideally attract attention to your brand, generate interest in your product or service, stimulate a desire for it, and spur action to try or buy it.

Attention

The first step is to attract the attention of your target audience.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself before creating content for your blog or website, that will help to write attention-grabbing content.

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What are the needs of your audience?
  • What is the problem your audience is facing?
  • What kind of solution is your content piece offering to their problems?
  • How does your audience think and talk about their issue?

Interest

Now it’s time to connect with your target audience on a personal level.

Create content that's highly relevant and informative. Writing short, concise paragraphs, using bullet points, using images and charts will help maintain reader’s interest.

Give them a reason for investing their valuable time to read your content.

Desire

Now turn your audience's interest into desire. Make an emotional connection with your content that is the best way to stimulate your audience's desire.

Highlight the benefits and the features, highlight the relatable issues, and explain how will your content solves the problem of them.
